Welcome!  I make my home in the great Northwoods of
Wisconsin near Lake Superior
     a peaceful setting
conducive to writing descriptive stories about nature
meant to inspire you toward a deeper
               relationship with God,
to entertain you, and to encourage you.
Chock-full of my mother’s writing genes, I BEGAN WRITING when I was 13.  Her parents also wrote, and I’m blessed to have my grandmother’s diary of 1896-1899.

MY FIRST BOOK, Wild Hero, relates the harrowing adventures of a young girl and her dog, set in the mountains of Montana.  After my mother read it, she said, “You must have just finished reading Heidi.”  Such are poor beginnings, but my book remains in my file.  It’s written on thick, fuzzy, unlined paper with a thick-leaded  pencil.

A POTPOURRI OF FACTS ABOUT ME
—I have three children, 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.  What’s an older lady like me doing by starting a new career?  I believe one is never too old to undertake a new project.  God gives the passion and desire, and the strength and energy to go with it.  With Him, all things are possible.
—This is my third career, and it has become my Christian ministry.  My first career, journalism, was followed by a career in quilting.  I opened a quilt shop to sell merchandise and to teach quilting.  I love to teach.
—My two favorite states are Wisconsin and Alaska.  Everyone should visit both.  If you can’t go in person, though, please visit them through my books and stories.
