Speaking
I am available to speak on a variety of topics. I have spoken at libraries, museums, church events, Christian Women luncheons, senior citizen gatherings, and other groups. My teaching experience includes Sunday school classes, quilting groups, 4-H gatherings, and mentoring home schooled adolescent girls in creative writing. I am available to speak at • conferences • seminars • churches • schools • libraries • club meetings • home school events • reading clubs
I am flexible and will tailor my talks to the desires of your group. Here is a sampling of my topics:
Overcoming the Storms (williwaws) in Your Life Learn how to go through the life-storms you’re facing, using biblical principles. I use the word williwaw as a metaphor of life, believing we all face—and are shaped by—adversities.
Writing Your Life Stories
My 3- or 4-hour workshops will teach you how to leave a rich legacy of your life through writing about your life experiences. This is a fun, hands-on way to begin connecting your past to the future of your children and grandchildren.
My Journey in Writing Fiction Join me on my journey along the road to writing discovery as I share my experience of writing Williwaw Winds and other stories.
Writing and Alaska
I draw on my numerous travels to Alaska to share how the North Star State has impacted my writing.
Speaking of Nature This fun-packed presentation lets you learn easy lessons about life from the antics and activities of critters that make their homes around us. Lifelong, informal study of wildlife, in my own backyard and as far away as Alaska, reflects my joy of nature in my writing and teaching.
You’re Never Too Old to Start a Home-based Career You’re never too old to learn. You’re never too old to step out in faith in a brand-new adventure. You’re never too old to keep the excitement of life moving. My life proves it and so can yours. I will show you how to add zest and purpose to your life.
How to Publish Your Stories Exciting! Scary! Thorny! That’s how I describe my journey of self-publishing. I will explain to you, through the use of my daily log entries, how I wrote, edited, published, and marketed my book.
